MSARF Program Surveys
FAER created the Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship Program to introduce scientifically talented medical students to the research and education opportunities in anesthesia and perioperative medicine. Goals of the program are to:
- Increase the scientific base of the specialty and
- Strengthen the faculty in anesthesiology training programs.
To measure the effectiveness of the program in achieving these goals, each year FAER surveys program participants—past and present. Past program participants are asked to provide information regarding their residency selection as well as updates on their scientific and professional activity beyond training. Medical students completing the MSARF in the current year and representatives from host sites are asked to provide feedback on summer experience and to help measure the program’s success and identify specific areas for improvement in subsequent years.
