Grant applications are reviewed by the either the American Society of Anesthesiology Committee on Research or the FAER Education Study Section, depending on the type of grant. These groups function as study sections using National Institutes of Health criteria and methods. After the review committee members submit their evaluations, the FAER Board of Directors awards grants based on scores and available funding. Written critiques are shared with all applicants.
